How recipes work
A recipe is how you make one thing and what it costs. Products and Shopify variants can share it.
What a recipe is
A recipe is how you make one thing, and what it costs to make it. It holds the materials, production steps, packaging, and the price you want to charge.
Create one
Open Recipes and choose New recipe. Name it, then add the materials and steps that go into the piece.
What you can record
- Materials from your materials library
- Production steps — choose a process, then the equipment, time, labor, and supplies for that step
- Packaging — boxes, bags, labels, and how many each item uses
- Price — add a target margin to the production cost, or set a selling price
On the website, a product can use a saved recipe. In Shopify, a variant can use the same recipe. Shopify still creates orders. Sunday Maker does not create Shopify orders.
The recipe name belongs to the recipe. More than one product can use it.
