Link a recipe to Shopify products

Save a recipe, then link the variants that use it. Sunday Maker can write the recipe cost to the cost per item in Shopify.

Where linking happens

Open a recipe in the Sunday Maker app inside Shopify. The Shopify products section is where that recipe connects to variants in your store.

Link variants

  1. Save the recipe, including the materials and steps that make up its cost.
  2. Choose Link products.
  3. Pick the product, then the variants that use this recipe. More than one variant can share it.

What the link does

The link means this recipe is the cost source for those variants. When you are ready, choose Apply cost to Shopify. Sunday Maker writes the recipe's production cost to the cost per item on those variants.

If the recipe cost changes later, the variant can show as out of sync until you apply the new cost. You can restore the previous cost from that same section.

The selling price customers pay in Shopify is still Shopify's price. Sunday Maker's margin tools explain the recipe. They do not change the Shopify selling price by themselves.

Shopify still owns orders. Linking a product does not create an order.
